Don't these kind of products already exist? I thought there was a PiFace or similar board for exactly this purpose.
If anyone had such a need, there's an alternative approach: take a 8-port switch with PoE, and feed it directly to 4 or 8 Pi's. No non-standard cables needed, and no need for a manual switch, power can be controlled independently remotely.
By the way, the product logo looks like a supermarket logo, I know it's supposed to look like a four-leaf clover, but to certain regions it will always remind them of a supermarket.
