Hi there,

I'm seeking a way to boot on official Raspberry image based on  Debian Buster Lite on Smartedge IIOT Gateway.

Does someone succeed to do that ?

I 've followed spreed instructions provided in available documentation but nothing seems to work.

I also tried to create an image with another version of u-boot and kernel image but have the same result nothing boot at all.

Any doc will be appreciated

    Hello Olivier,

we are looking for the same information here also

Please, what's the documentation you are referring to?

Do you have root access to the SmartEdge?

    Thanks,

    Marcello

    Hi  Marcello ,

To be honest i succeed to boot an Buster image on the smartedge IIOT Gateway . However i have to copy kernel7.img , bcm2710-rpi-custom.dtb and dt-blob.bin from boot slice of smartedge official image to the same on Buster image.

I encountered some trouble with bluetooth but i think i could resolve it later

Regarding the documentation, all i have is what you can find here : SmartEdge Industrial IoT Gateway Solution - Connects to Innovate

For root access , of course yes . You only have to enter "sudo -i" or "sudo su -" from avnet session.

    Hello,

I have almost working actual version of U-Boot (discarding TPM support for now, but is should be quite easy to fix) and  was able to partially boot Debian Buster arm64 image (https://wiki.debian.org/RaspberryPiImages). Systemd and non-free blobs got in my way, but I may be able to win soon ...

I'll upload relevant repositories to Github soon ...

    Petr

    Hello Petr,

    Do you have success?

I'm trying to create a fresh image using buildroot, but I'm not able to have it running.

The closier I got is boot the original file system with my kernel, but I was not able to have the Wi-Fi working. Also I don't have nothing about the ATTiny in dmesg.

    Do you have any clue?

    Best Regards, Luan

    Hi all,

From my understanding , if you compiled an official Raspbian image you have to adapt bcm2710-rpi-custom.dts  because the avnet board does not address all components as Raspberry does.

    @Petr : got news?

    Hello,

    Thank you for theses information.

I am also very interested to know if it is possible to have Debian Buster running on it.

Do you have some update ?

    Thank you very much.
