suggestion on roadtest of RaspberryPi4 and PoE hat

Hi Guys,

I am doing the following roadtest. Could you give me more ideas what can I do to make a good roadtest?

I have tried Motioneye OS. I could try something else as well.

    Hi Ujjval,

I would be interested in seeing the current and voltage drops depending upon the length of the Ethernet cable.

Specifically, how far away can you power a Rpi using the POE hat.

You send the RPi to my house then I plug it in and see if you can power it from your house.......If I didnt know better I would of thought you were trying to get folk to do the Road test for you !!!

What was your pitch in your application that secured you the RoadTest Review?

Review your application and look at the two questions

    (c) Why did you apply for this particular roadtest?

    (e) What is your testing procedure or project plan (Be as specific as you can)?

Your review was awarded based on your application. Your focus should be on what you suggested in the application.

PoE implies that an internet application would be appropriate. Maybe an MQTT server with some remote sensors...

I've done 50M with just 12V and power injection so I would say the full 100M is quite doable!

I had a similar interest, loss of power of cable length.

I confirmed the impact at the Pi is negligible over the maximum length of a CAT5 cable 328Fft. Raspberry Pi4B (4GB) plus POE Hat - Review

The is no change as a result of load on the Pi either.

The best thing also is that I can jsut power it up with PoE hat and provide wpa_supplicant.conf for WiFi, hence I do not necessarily need router around the RaspberryPi. Isn't it?
