Favorite resource or guide to designing-in a RP2040

Currently, I'm prototyping with the Pi Pico. But my final project will not have enough room for the board. So, I plan to design just the chip into the final PCB.

Just curious if anyone has a favorite guide, tutorial, or resource they have used when doing a design around the RP2040.

I have only used the RPI Pico module. I have not tried to integrate the RP2040 chip into a project.

The RPI team do publish a HW design guide for the RP2040: https://datasheets.raspberrypi.org/rp2040/hardware-design-with-rp2040.pdf

Additionally, with the RPI Pico being OSH they do provide the orcad project files, but that's it. You have to download the free orcard viewer if you want to see how the RPI Pico PCB was designed. https://datasheets.raspberrypi.org/pico/RPi-Pico-R3-PUBLIC-20200119.zip

I have included a few screengrabs of the Pico's layout that I used in a RoadTest:

No ground pins! Only ground connection is through the thermal pad/slug, neat chip!

Have you got your chips ?

(I see Farnell hvae none to sell until 27/12/2021).

What apsect of the RP2040 made you choose it for your project ?

Yes, I acquired a small quantity of them already.

My reason for choosing the RP2040 is the PIOs. They're my favorite feature of the micro.

There are some modules that are much smaller than the Pico if that is of any help:

    XIAO RP2040

    Wio RP2040
