Remove or hide raspberry "recovery" logo

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

I would like to know how to remove or hide the Raspberry logo showing during the startup with the option "Hold Shift to Recovery Mode".

I know there are other discussions about removing RPi logos, but they are referred to the four raspberry logos that appears after a while at the top of the screen, but they doesn't matter; my interest is in removing the "recovery" raspberry icon.

Any idea about how to do that?

My OS is Raspbian Jessie, istalled with Noobs latest version.

Thanks!

    Rebuild the kernel from source.

So you mean this image is built in the kernel?

I have an older RPi in which I installed Raspbian (always Jessie) few months ago, and I noticed that logo doesn't appears at the startup. Perhaps it's been introduced in the latest version?

Judging by your previous posts I'm guessing you're trying to eradicate all reference to the raspberry pi on your raspberry pi.

My advice would be the same as clem57. Build your own custom distro.

I thought the "recovery mode" was just with the NOOBS distro and not with the plain raspbian only.

I may be wrong, not tinkered  with the RPi for a few weeks.

I have just seen he asked the question on the RPi forums here https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=136656&p=908279

    and got the answer:

If you need help with understanding NOOBS partitions see https://github.com/raspberrypi/noobs/wiki/NOOBS-partitioning-explained

If these matters concern you, it is time to download your specific linux distribution and not use NOOBS at all! It was meant for first time users with little or no knowledge of the behind the scenes usage. You certainly are beyond that point. Of course you are burdened with fixing the things you do!
