I "Registered My Interest" for Model B with my name and phone number etc... is this how you pre-order it? I didnt get an email or anything. Im finding it very difficult to find out how to preorder from Canada. Also it was difficult to find out how to post on this forum.

Hi - I don't believe it is the same as ordering.  This is the product page on Newark Canada:

    http://canada.newark.com/raspberry-pi/raspbrry-pcba/dp/83T1943

UPDATE: I just found this explanation http://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-43262/l/frequently-asked-questions-about-raspberry-pi

Stocks from Raspberry Pi of the initial production quantity are limited and these have already sold out. For those of you who have already pre-ordered, you should have received a confirmation email.  We will let you know in the next few days when you can expect your delivery.  We’re working very closely with Raspberry Pi to ensure we can meet the demand as soon as possible.  We will be one of the first to have Raspberry Pi’s in stock and delivered to you, so if you haven’t been able to pre-order, register your interest so we can let you know as soon as you can order again and keep you updated with the latest on availability.

    I hear you.

After being online at 1am (EST) to order one and failing miserably, I've been resigned to the fact that until you can actually go online and pre-order parts that are on back order, I won't get one.  Its like trying to get a Wii all over again.  I think myself and many others are fine with waiting if they know at least that the order is placed and one will arrive 3-4 months down the road.  I hope these guys open a '1 only' pre order page to allow those of us who just want to get one (not 10, 100, or more) to have a shot at it before the batch orders start rolling in.

I "registered my interest" on Feb 29th.  Late on March 3rd I received an email "Raspberry Pi Update" which invited me to order and included the text:

Our goal is to make the order process as fair as possible.  So we are opening the ordering window in batches based on when you registered your interest.  At this time we will continue to limit orders to 1 [per] person, to ensure the products get into the right hands.  Once you place your order, products will be shipped in the order that purchases are received.

We've held your place in line, so all you have to do now - is place your order. < link >

So it seems the earlier you registered your interest, the sooner you get a chance to order.  I ordered on March 4th.  The order form estimated delivery of April 3rd, but I didn't take it seriously.  I later received a confirmation e-mail estimating May 14th -- I'm guessing this means the second production batch.

Note: the link I got was to newark.chtah.com.  I worried that it might have been phishing, but a little Internet research says that chtah.com is a domain attached to cheetahmail.com, an apparently legit e-mail services provider.  It did get me to newark.com for ordering.  YMMV: You may want to do your own Internet research.

I did recieve an Order Acknowledgement e-mail on Feb. 29 by following @Drew Fustini's link and ordering that way.

Though it's good to know you got an Update e-mail though by Registering Your Interest. Strange, I did Register Your Interest on the same day as you and have yet to recieve an e-mail about it.

Nice. I got an Update email, but it only says "We will be contacting you soon to let you know when you can Pre-Order!"

    Oh well... wait longer...
