Can anyone recommend suitable connectors?

I'm looking for a source of suitable connectors to link the expansion ports on the Pi to an add-on board we're designing, and hoping to find them here at Farnell.

They need to be 2 x 13, 0.1" spacing, and I need matching male and female connectors, with both SMT and through-hole versions. (I don't want mcuh, do I).

I couldn't find anything suitable using parametric search on Farnell but that might just be me.

Hi

The RPi was designed so that you could use a variety of ways of connecting to the expansion port.

You can fit a 26way IDC connector for ribbon cable - like 10992401099240 and possibly the same at the other end onto your board.

If you want it to sit above you will need to get high enough to miss the Composite Video connector, and if your board is big then you will also have to avoid the USB and Ethernet.

Something like 18047291804729 would allow you to connect straight up.

Suitable mating pin strips are like : 19242311924231.

I'm sure that the product guys at element14 can point out others (hopefully cheaper).

An easy way to avoid the problem of the high connectors -- composite video, usb, and ethernet -- is to have your board attach underneath the Raspberry Pi. The expansion header can be soldered in facing downward and plug directly onto an expansion board underneath.
