End of my frustation

After following the Raspi infos and discussions for month, I did not get a device or a preorder, even an interest entry.

 

So I decided to stop my frustation today and have ordered a Beaglebone. This has about the same functionalties as

the Raspi, but it is better suited for embedded developments, eg. 64 GPIOs, 4 UARTs, .....

It comes with a Linux distribution and one could even implement Android on it. And TI has some nice daughter boards

in the pipeline.

OK, it is more than double in price, I have to pay around 90 € including tax and shipment. But its worth to start with

my project soon, instead of burning my time waiting for Raspi, Gert-board, etc.

 

So I will have a close look next year to the Raspi project and wish to all of you successful projects.

  • I see you got yours... so you can't understand my frustration... so GTFO...

    They didn't say clear about selling... only about some "good" news... So yes i waited a good news on email and RSS...

    And got bad news now... They postponed sell date couple of times, and they don't reported about boards back to them from factory... So i think that they will say something like "We got our bords and will do some more testing and start selling at ..."

     

    So either way they wrote not clear... Why they do that? What purpose? Trickery? Yes they did...

    They promoted their shop.... Why? Trickery? Yes they did...

     

    So many frustration... In just one day!!!!!

    but that is not what they said to do. they said there would be an announcement and to go to the website at the appointed day and time to see what it is/was. that is actually the correct way to do it as sending 100K+ emails at once means that some people wouldn't get it until much later, for some it would be marked spam and for others it might not turn up at all.

     

    it is not their fault if you decided to not do what you were told to.

     

    as for the delayed selling date. well that never happened. they originally said they HOPED to be able to sell by q4 2011 but never guaranteed it would and the next date they mentioned was they HOPED to be able to start selling before March 1st which they did.

     

    yes they did say that they would be selling from their store but things change all the time and if you'd followed the instructions given to you then you would have known that.

     

    No trickery, No broken promises just someone who didn't follow the instructions so it's your own fault and i have no sympathy for you

    I got no email. I checked my spam folders also.  No emails.

    Nothing on the 27th? I got three (different addresses, gmail, self hosted and ISP) and everyone I checked with in the states, england, australia, france & bosnia got theirs.

     

    it was also on the front page of the website and thus rss too but you should have received an email on the 27th although 100k+ emails at one time can cause some problems with the blacklisting services

    Nothing at all. The only emails I have received from RaspberryPi were the autoresponses when I signed up for the forums and created my store account, on Jan. 5 and 10 respectively. 

     

    I'm on Gmail, and while they are aggressive about stopping spam, they filter it into one place. I looked in the spam box as well, and nothing. 

     

    I'll agree that I "should have" received an email, but for some reason I didn't.  And I can't be the only one.
