I was wondering if the board of the Pi comes with the Linux OS already installed onto the device. Or do you have to buy the SD card and write the OS to the card with a memory card reader?

Where is the OS that works with the Raspberry Pi to download?
I'm a noob with all of this.

the debian rootfs is on the download page of raspberrypi.org http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads
the fedora one will probably be added there once the mirrors are synced but in the meantime look at http://zenit.senecac.on.ca/wiki/index.php/Raspberry_Pi_Fedora_Remix (which will also have the d/l links once the mirrors are synced)
