Pre-Order, Back-Order Shipping Dates All Over the Place

Placed an order on the 29th at 10PM CST (I originally stayed up for the launch but noticed after a couple of hours it wasn't going to happen) and got Estimated Ship Date of 5-11-12 because it was in back-order status. Then, just a little while ago, I received an e-mail saying I could pre-order and my place in line had been saved (because I had signed up to "express interest".) So, I placed another order and when the Pi was in the cart it said the ESD was 4-3-12 (Cool!) However, when I submitted the order my ESD changed to 5-14-12??? Obviously it will be a while before I get one any way you look at it, but that's a pretty big discrepancy, What's your ESD?

Least you've gotten your email. I wasn't able to do anything on release day, nor was I able to preorder, yet.

Oh well. Back to crossed fingers and mashing F5... image

I know how frustrating it can be, but I haven't had any problems trying to place an order since:

    1. ...about 16 hours after intial release...

    2. ...and I figured out that we have to use Newark (not Farnell) in the USA.

    Good luck!

This same thing happened to me, ordered before, said it would ship on May 14th, got a preorder email, reordered, still May 14th when the cart said April 3rd. And now I am apparently ordering 2 Raspberry's. :s

I didn't get an estimated shipping date. My Pi is on 'Backorder'. Maybe it's because I bought it from the Australian store but that shouldn't make a difference, should it?

Question: What are they charging for shipping? I need to know actually BEFORE I let them have at my card, but the order process is set up to tell you AFTER you've placed your order.

I placed my order late on March 3, shipping to the US and the emailed receipt shows no shipping.  Total cost = $35.

From what I can tell it's different everywhere. In the USA there is no shipping charge if purchased from Newark.

They charge shipping and tax when the order is complete.  You have been given an order confirmation saying $35, but at delivery you will receive an invoice for the $35 + tax and shipping.  This is how real companies bill people and if you pay close attention in the check out, it stated tax and shipping were not included.  Typically you will be charged cost to ship, say $5 + $3.50 or so tax.  I'm expecting the total cost to be between $40-45.

Wow, now it has been pushed all the way back to August 14th! Not cool at all. That's absurd and hopefully not accurate.
