Mine is scheduled to ship March 13th. I assume I am receiving one of the first.

To answer the original poster then, nobody who has spoken up seems to have one of the 10k batch yet.

So what were all those offers on eBay, all hoaxes?

The eBay hoaxters were offering product they didn't have in hand.   As opposed to Farnell who are offering product they don't have in hand.  This website is showing pictures and unboxing and other videos of alpha and beta boards, giving the impression that they are production boards, but they aren't.  They are talking about initial stock selling out amazingly quickly, but there was no initial stock in hand.

Neither Farnell or RS are claiming they will get anything near half of a 10k batch.  RS reportedly is saying 900 units, and Farnell isn't saying.  The foundation is saying they are awating arrival of the first shipment, but they haven't said how many units it will include, or even whether or not is has actually left China.  Hopefully they have a FedEx tracking number, but if they do, they aren't saying.  There are no pictures of any production boards, nor any videos showing them booting, although supposedly they have been tested.  Maybe testing hasn't included booting.

Hehe coder27, that was very cynical, but at least funny.

While I'm not quite that cynical, I do agree that honesty and openness at the Foundation seems to have taken a back seat since the 29th Feb.

I too have a date W/C 12th March which I assume is part of the first batch as they are not expecting delivery from China untill around the 9th I have heard. I did get in early and already had an account so after many refreshes all through the order process I finally completed it around 7am and had a confirmation with expected date shorly after. Even so I still have my fingers crossed until I have my hands on it.

Well I'm going to buy a whole pile of units from Farnell when they're in stock.  No stock, no sale.

It's one of the most important features of Farnell for me, the ability to see how many units of a product are in stock on their excellent website, place an order accordingly, and have the products arrive here the very next day.  Farnell are excellent for this, I use them frequently, a great service.

If they're not going to keep stocks of Raspberry Pi and only manufacture them to order based on the "Register your interest" crap, then they will not get my custom, period.  I doubt that will be the case though.

My guess is that Rpi will become a normal stocked product as soon as the next batch is manufactured.  If that batch is for fewer than several hundred thousand units then they still haven't learned the lesson of the 29th.

    Morgaine.

    Hi there!

I gladly managed to get through the ordering process at 7:01 GMT+1 and til now did not get any Delivery Date set or emailed.

Man it is making me crazy not to know when it will be delivered. But I thin I will get one from the first batch! Or did one of you get a Delivery Date from Farnell who also had ordered about 7:00 GMT+1 ?

    Greetings Ron

    Hello,

I would suggest calling customer service.  I called them to confirm my ship date and they also said they do not bill your credit card until it ships, at least in the  US through Newark.

I got my order in  and confirmed at 11mins past the launch (0611GMT), but I am unable to get any answers out of Element14 NZ/AUS as to either a delivery date, or even where in the 10/5K allocation the order is.

I have sent another query this morning seeking clarification, and asking where my order falls in the allocation.

What is disappointing is that some who ordered a loooong time after the launch have a date, that indicates they should be in the first batch.

The Pinguino board I ordered 7 days before is still 'pending' despite the website showing 8 in stock and 6-7 days delivery ex UK.

    Maybe their site can't update.?

    Mark

I am also part of the first batch and have yet to hear about my delivery. I ordered over the phone because the website went down seconds after the launch.

I'm waiting for money to be taken out of my account as an "alert" that my Pi is on its way. image

I registered interest with RS at 6:05 on the 29th, although I think they lost my submitted details.  I finally managed to order from Farnell at 2pm in the afternoon, eta w/c 16/04/2012.

Unfortunately I travel to Hong Kong, Shenzhen and elsewhere in China for a month that week image . Hopefully the Pi will be waiting for when I return.
