Enter our new Raspberry RoadTest and you could win a Raspberry Pi!

Hi Everyone.

 

Given the overwhelming interest in our Beaglebone RoadTest, we've decided to launch a new RoadTest in which you can win a Raspberry Pi. RoadTest is our series of ongoing product giveaways. Members of our community apply to win a new product by telling us what they plan to build with it. We select winners based, in part, upon the creativity of their design idea. The product is shipped out to you, and the fun begins! After you've had a chance to really explore the product, we just ask that you post a product review of it on element14 so the rest of our community can learn more about your experience.

  • I will use it to make new programs that really will make using the computer more easy to use and awesome new apps and games. i will design a game where a character walks around doing missions with a bow and sonic arrows and i am sure that this will be great to work with!

  • Hi Everyone.

     

    We've received some questions from our members about whether the 3 boards being given away in our new Raspberry RoadTest drawing are coming out of our initial delivery stock.

     

    No way! The 3 RoadTest boards are the working Qual Prototypes that were used by the design team at Raspberry Pi to qualify the board design before it went to final production. As a result, these are not the standard units available for purchase. (For example some parts have been hand-soldered on these boards.) They are not for resale. For example we took one such unit to the Guardian newspaper last week for them to demonstrate it. The board worked well and enabled the Guardian to post a message on element14 from a web browser running directly on the Raspberry Pi.

     

    Given the overwhelming interest in this product, we just wanted to explain that we are not authorised to sell these three units as they are non-standard and therefore not suitable for resale. Please be assured that we will be fulfilling customer orders on a first-come, first-served basis. I hope this helps clear everything up.   • Hoping to be able to make an in-car intigrated system, replacing the existing stereo, providing audio, passenger video, data gathering and hopefully GPS, CAR / VAN bus intigration in time.
