What's in the bundle

Had a hunt round the Farnell site, but can't find exactly what is in the bundle.

So, the list gives:

 

wireless mouse (Pictured, red. Nice)

keyboard (Not pictured)

wifi dongle (Pictured)

SD Card reader (Not Pictured)

all the essential accessories. (Also pictured is a Sandisk Extreme 4GB and  a hub)

 

Several questions arise from this:

1) Is the keyboard wireless too? Will it be a compact design, or full size.

2) Will a power supply be included?

3) Will the SD card be pre-loaded?

4) Anything else included?

 

Also, no indication of the price of the bundle is given. Is a rough price known yet?

        I truly don't believe that this will be an answer to your questions, however I am finding it hard to understand the draw of the listed bundles.  There is nothing really in these bundles that can't be easily obtained from a local computer retailer or even a "Dollar Store".  Just watch someone from northern Labrador or the Outer Hebrides state that it is a 3 hour sled-dog expedition or 2 hour boat ride just to the post office, so the bundle would be a "life-saver".

     

        About the only item that would truly be useful from a compatibility point of view would be the wifi dongle as not all wifi devices are supported in Linux, and you'd want to get one that works under the "official distro".

  • 1. By watching the movies, the keyboard they used was NOT wireless but you will just have to be patient and wait until the bundles are available.

    2. There is no actual power supply. Watch the videos.

    3. On the main page, you can download a version of Linux from them. I would guess it is NOT preloaded. They are not giving you everything for free but there are Linux programs for free.

    4. If there was more included, it would have been listed.

    You have to wait until they make the bundles available for a price. Was obvious to me.

       I agree. Most of these can be obtained through local stores very cheap. It is more of a convenience to get a bundle from the maker so I can see many people buying them if they are resonably priced. Since this system was created for schools that had little $$, I am sure the bundles will be inexpensive. Some people will buy their own extras because they may already have most of the stuff needed and only need 1 or 2 items to get it running.
