Fedora download temporarily removed

bluescreen
bluescreen over 13 years ago

Hi Guys.

Just a quick note to let you know we've temporarily removed the Fedora download. When the Fedora Remix was first available, we tested it on our Raspberry Pi unit to make sure it worked. We discovered a few issues with username and password authentication which prevented us from accesing the OS. This made it a bit unstable. We've shared this info with the guys at Fedora, and they are working on a new release. Once they fix the software issue, our friends at the Raspberry Pi Foundation will test it out and we'll put the stable version up for you again. Until then, check out the Debian Squeeze distro in our Download Center.

Thanks! image

    Sagar,

Can you update us on the status of the "temporary" removal of the Fedora download?

According to the RPi FAQ at

       http://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-43262

you're still waiting for an updated release from Seneca.

Are you waiting for a Fedora 18 release?  Or are you waiting for a hard-float release?

Or have you given up waiting?

Is Seneca under contract to deliver a usable version?  Do they have any obligation to

provide ongoing support?  Is anyone at Element14 in contact directly or indirectly with

    anyone at Seneca?

I note that today is the 1-year anniversary of Seneca's RPi release party.
