How about posting confirmation numbers when people receive their R-Pi's. That should give us some idea of expected delivery time.
Example: My Conf # is 191353. I saw a post that 160xxx has received his. That gives me about 31K to go.

I received the following email update from Element14:
"Dear TheMonkeyKing,
We're excited to inform you that your Raspberry Pi will be delivered in an upcoming shipment beginning the week of June 18th. We will have your firm delivery date, after manufacturer confirmations are made, on Newark.com. If you don't have all the accessories you need for your Raspberry Pi, please take advantage of this 15% off coupon on your next purchase from Newark.com." (Note: 15% off orders of $75 USD or more, only)
Now if this is true, it will be 80+ days since my March 2 order (which I'm still pretty miffed at). But Element14 did send me the purchase link two days after launch day day. However, I only receive update emails from RS telling me they've let another 4000 or so people order the Pi and by the way, thank you for your patience. I still haven't been allowed to order from them and I put my name in for ordering on launch day, too.
So yeah, I'll believe it when I have it my hands. And it is frustrating to know that this could have been done much better, but for now, I'm playing with the Acer Iconia A500. It received the Ice Cream Sandwich update last week. (I wondered which would come first...)

My Conf is 437xxx. I'm hoping for August! Meanwhile I'm slowly acreting supplies: 2GB SD card & Bluetooth keyboard from my desk drawer, used $5 blue tooth mouse, used $3 bluetooth 2.0 dongle, $5 (incredibly crappy) powered USB hub. Does this make me an optimist?
Paul that's the spirit! I think you'll be plesantly surprised because they'll manage to get you your 'pi before August.
Anyway. Consider getting a 4G SD card: I've heard some people complain that the 2G SD card image didn't fit on their 2G SD card.
