Does anyone know if the Raspberry Pi is powerful enough to stream 1080p video in web browsers? E.g. youtube videos. I'm interested in any kind of OS / browser combination that can do it!

From the looks of it I think the answer is no.
However, depending on where you are and what exactly you want to do, one of the XBMC derivatives such as Raspbmc can stream iplayer HD (720p) quite happily. I can testify to this as I'm watching it while I'm typing this.
I think it would need some software that would use the power of the GPU. As iplayer is quite happy, I guess there must be some way of doing it ?
