4 channel logic analyzer on R-Pi, 1 usec sample time

Fun project- I didn't even realize this was possible with non-realtime Linux. Apparently you can turn off all interrupts for awhile on the Pi without bad effect other than the system being unresponsive. Probably date/time clock gets slow (?)

Hah, what a totally excellent Pi project! image image image

Of course one wouldn't do it that way if the goal were to develop a serious logic analyzer, but what's important about rgh's demonstration is that it's sure to inspire many other projects based on no-hardware sampling or timing.  And for an interesting range of simple tasks, his project may even end up producing a satisfactory tool.

It's great to see people go outside the envelope, just because they can!

    Morgaine.

Great - proper software with the OS in it's proper place (shut down for a while) image

And just imagine what the same attitude might achieve with access to ALL of the chip !

Oh we're in the realms of serious heresy there, no doubt about it.
