Computer will not let me log in, then it dies.

I turn on the Raspberry Pi and it runs through all the information and when it gets to log in then it will not let me log in. Next thing that happens is another screen of information that ends with: Kernel panic-not syncing: fatal exception in interrupt

Then it is dead. How do I fix this, Thanks Jimmy

This is mentioned on the RasPi Troubleshooting Wiki and in the RasPi Troubleshooting Forum (you'll have do use the Search function).  A likely cause is an iffy power supply and/or micro USB cable and/or polyfuse F3.  See the RasPi Hardware Wiki Power Supply Problems section.

    Jimmy,

Since your voltage at 4.8v is within normal range, although maybe a

little on the low side,  I'd suggest trying a different keyboard, or a different

SD card from the recommended list, possibly a larger SD card if yours is

2GB where GB=10^9 bytes rather than 2^30 bytes.

Your error message appears quite often, and doesn't necessarily

indicate any one specific problem.  You can do a bing search for

      site:raspberrypi.org "kernel panic not syncing"

to see what others have tried.

If all else fails, element14 is doing a good job of promptly replacing units

that appear to be faulty or borderline, and you shouldn't feel bad about

having to do that, since it gives them better visibility into what's causing problems.
