How can I cancel my order?

Former Member
Former Member over 13 years ago

I would like to cancel my order (I have a reference number ORP )

with the fact that there has been a new chinese PC released these days which is smaller than raspberry Pi (it's a bit bigger than a USB flash drive) it comes with a case, it has conrtex A10 running at 1500mhz, it has 512mb ram, 4gb of space, comes with power supply, works on android and soon on ubuntu and costs about $25 more and can be instantly shipped, I see no reason for waiting to get raspberry even if the confirmation of my order says that I will receive it by end of June.

So, I would be glad if someone can tell me the procedure to cancel my order.

Thank you in advance

Smaller and less expensive than the Raspberry Pi?  I'm curious!  What is the name of this product and where can you get one?

Customer Support will get back to you with info. on how to cancel. You can also send them a Private Message for help.

    Thanks,

    Nicole

    Hi Nicole,

It think you will find it is smaller but about $25 more, as above, not less :-)

I am also curious, Stefan, can you let us know the name please ?

    Thank you.

    Steve

ok , not finding anything on google searches for anything of the like withany identifiable name.

If this is out there than info on what and where to get it is worse than Raspberry PI.

Name your source when posting stuff!

My purpose before opening this discussion was not to advertise other merchants/website but to get assistance for canceling my order.

if posting websites towards other competitive products is forbidden here, I am really sorry and someone please delete this message.

    the dimensions are (8.8 cm x 3.5 cm x 1.2 cm)

I thought it may be Allwinner based, and in fairness to Stefan, there are plenty of Raspberry Pi alternative articles on the web, so I don't think it should cause you trouble.

I think it will be interesting in the next 6 months or so, there seem to be a number of fairly powerful alternatives coming out (The intel alluded to above and I believe VIA has also produced something similar) and if they all materialise it will be an interesting time, almost like the early-mid 80's when a different computer seemed to be announced each week !

Thing that concerns me is that unless the Foundation get the numerous problems sorted out with the pi, or at least start acknowledging them, it could get overtaken fairly quickly by something that 'just works'.

being honest, I have ordered two raspberry pi as I refreshed the webpage by mistake during pre-orders. So I gave the code to a friend of mine to order the second for me.

As other devices appear, I think it would be better to keep only one raspberry, so, I want to cancel the second one.

Stefan, I also have two, I did my own buy one, give one as the Foundation appear to have forgotten about that.

Like I say above, I think it could be very interesting over the next six months or so, some seemingly very capable devices waiting in the wings, should be an exciting time to be into this side of technology.

    Steve,

      you wrote:

One thing that seems to be preventing them from quickly sorting out the problems

is the distributed nature of the development, and in some cases, the lack of

support contracts.  For example, the Foundation relies on Seneca to support

Fedora, but Seneca seems to work at their own pace, without much regard to

whether or not the Foundation or element14 has pulled what was once their

    preferred OS.

Similarly, for accelerating X, nobody seems to be under contract to do that.

The raspbian volunteers have been doing a great job of rebuilding Debian

for hard float, but they certainly aren't under any sort of contract with the

foundation, and neither Fedora or Debian seem interested in what they've done.

For fixing the USB issues, the Foundation relies on Broadcom, but Broadcom

reportedly doesn't have the expertise in house.  Similarly, for SD card issues.

For HDMI issues, it is puzzling why the RPi has so much trouble, when it is based

on the Roku 2 SoC, which reportedly has sold 4 million units.

Don't cancel...keep calm, after all it is still for a good cause. Think of it as a charitable donation, and a very good piece of kit at that.

I know how you feel, I have secretly wanted to express similar feelings many times, especially when hearing other peoples experiences with it.

Then I remind myself about the TFT LCD I recently waitied 2 long painfull weeks for...and then spent the next two months trying to use!
