Connecting with phono cable

Hi,

My TV doesn't have HDMI input so I wanted to try and connect my Raspberry Pi to the TV with the phono output. I got a cable and it works except that the bottom section of the screen is cut off. I tried it with several TV's and tried all the TV settings yet still the bottom centimetre or so was cut off. Anyone having similar problems? is it a design fault? let me know

Many TVs have something called "overscan" meaning the true edges of the image frame are not visible on the screen. There are historical technical reasons for this dating from the early days of television, which no longer apply, but the convention persists. Most people don't realize their set has overscan, until they try to use it as a computer monitor.

The R-Pi overscan settings can be adjusted from a configuration file, to match your display. See: http://elinux.org/R-Pi_ConfigurationFile
