Order placed (April) but no further information?

Former Member
Former Member over 13 years ago

I placed an order for a Raspberry Pi back in April, I received an order number in an email, yet I have received no more information, or emails about my order, nor can I see it in my order history. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Dan.

Hi Daniel, I know this sounds like a really stupid question and it does not help you, and there is a risk of hi-jacking the thread you've just started BUT, I have just registered my interest in the Raspberry Pi. Is that all i need to do to order it, or do i need to hand some money over somewhere. I just cant find a 'link' that will take me to ordering the Pi.

    Thanks

    Hi Ian,

If you've 'registered your interest', that's all you've done.  They should email you when you can order.  At least, this is what should happen.

I registered my interest a week or so after launch.  Then I had an email inviting me to 'pre-order' which I did on 31st March which gave me a reference number (ORP).  Since then I've heard nothing despite some indication that everyone ordering with Farnell before 18th April would have a confirmed delivery date by early May.

    So don't hold your breath.

    Paul.

    Hi all

I've registered interest on the 9th of March

I've received email with "time to order" on the 31st of May, I've place

this order on the same day I received email.

All went well, At the end I was prompt with the tracking order but I did

not receive this by email and I forgot to take a note of what was on

    screen.

Therefore i've tried tracking this by calling farnell sales ,

they advise me this was not something they could answer through the phone

was told to contact the foundation

I've been charged on my paypal account for the raspberry pi.

    Depressing, isn't it. image

I just can't wait for the boards to finally come into stock.  Only then will discussions focus mostly on what the Pi can do instead of on the ordering process.

you assume though that if money was taken from your account, that the weels are in motion  ;-(

I think that that varies by the country you're in.  I believe that Farnell UK debits your account only when stock has been received by them and one physical unit is removed from stock, assigned to you, and processed for delivery.  Perhaps Element 14 staff can confirm this.

Certainly taking your money before the board has even been produced is morally reprehensible.  Our money is not venture capital.

    Morgaine.

    bad boy,

As of about a week ago, there is an official element14 customer support person

available to assist with RPi ordering and delivery issues.  See for example this thread:

       http://www.element14.com/community/thread/18532?tstart=0

You can send her a private message with your order details.

In case she is unable to help, element14 has also been very responsive

    to twitter inquiries.

ok thanks for clarifying. Looks like I'm way down the list.....

I want to run it as a Logitech Squeezebox Server ( as my NAS box is too slow !), so was hoping for an easy quick win. I had no idea of the amazing potential of this device, and now want to buy 2 so my 13 yr old son can start playing. He's already come home and showed me 'scratch' from school, as the teachers are pushing the kids to 'play' with this.

(squeezebox is a wifi audio media centre)

(scratch is a GUI simple game designer to basic shoot-em-ups)
