RaspberryPi seems dead.

Help!! My RaspberryPi arrived last week, and I am just now trying to power it up. So far I am able to get the power led to light up. That's it, just the power led. If I plug in the keyboard and mouse, they just sit there. No lights, no nothing. I have tried downloading another operating system, and installed it on another SD card - No Luck there either. Any help would be seriously appreciated. I also get nothing out of the video jack. All recommended ESD proceedures have been followed!

A bad power supply and/or cable is a common cause: see http://elinux.org/Rpi_Hardware#Power_Supply_Problems

Like John stated before the RPi is very picking in the power supply that is used. That would be my first thing to look at.

Aarggh! What a mess. Once I downloaded Win32DiskImager, it would not install correctly, but I ran the .exe from the download, and after reading the attached .txt I was able to load the Debian .img onto my SD card. Now it works! Thanks to all who helped, I will keep the Voltage tolerance in mind as I move towards getting the HD output running. The key was the bootload.bin, Once I had loaded only that to the card, I would get three flashes on the OK light. That told me the card was at least partially good, and the voltage was tolerable. From there to running was very quick. For anyone out there with a Windows system, Get Win32DiskImager. follow the .txt directoions, and Happy PI 'ing .
