Delivery ??

bfpa40

I am confused with all these recent E-Mails from Element14 inviting me to order my RasberryPi now. I have 2 already on order under seperate Orders. Is there a way I can get a accurate ballpark delivery date? The last E-Mail I received said August but that seems not correct as I ordered back in March? Is it possibly I can send my 2 Order Numbers and get a semi-accurate date?   Thanks

Just to redress the balance a little. a "happy" experience. image

I was among those who placed their order before 18th April (I was invited to order in the first week of April, after my "expression of interest" during the first week of March) and so I was among those who were scheduled to receive their Pi before the end of June.

A letter from Farnell said that a slight delay was moving my delivery to the week starting Monday 2nd July, and I received it that very first day of the week.  So happy here, effectively just one day's delay.

I want more Pi boards, but I'm certainly not ordering again until they're available ex-stock, it's far too painful.  And delivery by 2nd Class Royal Mail is inadequate for me.  I want to pay the extra for 1st Class or UPS and receive it the very next day after ordering, like all my Farnell orders.

    That's good news at least!

Out of interest did your number begin with ORP0 and did it appear in your Farnell orders history page before or after delivery?

Your comments about the postage makes me think that the Raspberry Pi deliveries have been sub-contracted out by Farnell UK. Hence the lack of delivery info.

Yes, my Pi order reference number started with ORP02.

This order has never appeared in my regular Farnell account though, despite being made under the same name.  I suspect that uk.farnell.com (which holds my normal Farnell account) and export.farnell.com (which took the order when I clicked on the "You are invited to order" email) have two completely separate customer databases.  I've tried logging in with my uk.farnell details on export.farnell, but it fails.

I certainly hope that once Pi is freely available ex-stock, I'll be able to order it for next-day delivery from some Farnell account, but I was never notified of having an account at export.farnell.  I don't mind creating a new account at export.farnell, but 2nd Class postal delivery is not suitable for me, so unless export.farnell accounts provide more delivery options, I'll be wanting to order it from uk.farnell which provides far better delivery service.

The preferred solution is of course the simplest:  once Pi is ex-stock, make it appear as a standard product item on uk.farnell.com, without redirects to another site.  Then I can order it totally normally, specify the delivery options I want, and have the Pi orders listed in my normal account history.

As you can see above, my order was ORP020210 and nothing happened. So ......

Yup.  Your order preceded mine, judging by its number. image  Hopefully Customer Support will get back to you.
