I'd be happier if Eben and the RPF spent more time trying to get Synopsis to release more details about the use of the USB-OTG implementation. It's not much good having a screaming fast processor that can't get its data in and out reliably. I am reminded of the sports car races of the late '60s when the Mini Cooper S would clean up the field against Corvettes on any sort of tight twisty track.

I'm not sure what the differences are between an OTG port and a regular USB host port, but I gaather that OTG ports were intended to connect to a single device at a time. I think that might simplify the hardware implementation considerably, to the detriment of adapting it as a host port. I know that even the USB 1.1 host implementations were pretty complex, dealing with only two speeds.
