Still unable to Boot my RPi help please

Hi All

I have tried to boot my RPi but without much luck.

I used the win32diskimager to add an o/s to a 4 gig SD card I have tried both the archlinuxarm-13-06-2012 O/S and the 2012-07-15-wheezy-raspbian O/S.

these both gave the same result when i turned on the RPi with the SD card installed i get no video output either on the composite video output or the HDMI output.

I am using a HTC phone PSU charger rated at 5V 1 amp output.

Has anyone got any ideas.

Is the sd card on the verified list? Here is a link http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals#SD_cards.

Did you miss type that Richard? If your card realy isnt on the list then that is probably your culprit.

no it wasn't a miss type i actually have 2 cards 1 is a Kodak SD card 2GB this is a few years old and the other is a TDK 4GB SDHC BH1134222068D (this number is printed on the back) i cant see them on either of the good or problem list unless I have missed them.
I forgot to mention that the OK LED flashes 3 times then a very quick flash for a split second.

I think this means RasPi is trying to load the kernel from the SD card. A common reason for no video output is low 5V (see power supply problems in the RasPi Troubleshooting Wiki http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting#Troubleshooting_power_problems. If you have a voltmeter, check that TP1-TP2 is at least 4.8V (max 5.25V). Unplugging all USB devices can be useful for reducing the load on 5V and may turn the screen on.

I have heard of people having trouble with the Windows SDcard disk imager, so it's possible that the OS image isn't copying properly. I've never used it myself, but you might be able to search for some suggestions here or at the RasPi forum.

Hi John

I have checked the voltage at the test points and got 4.9V the test meter i used is calibrated.
I will have to try a different imager and see if that works.

I searched for "Win32DiskImager" on the front page at raspberrypi.org and found this thread: Can't get win32diskimager to work on WinXP Laptops. One problem mentioned is using a laptop's built-in SD card reader didn't work, while an external USB SD card reader did. I don't know if it applies to you. I'd suggest doing the search and seeing how others have dealt with Win32DiskImager.

Also search for "Win32DiskImager" at the top of this element14 page. There are several threads that mention it.
