Hello can anyone find a touch screen that is not that expensive that would work for the Raspberry Pi Model B? Thanks
I have was able to find 7" and 10" touch screen displays. I purchased the 10" and am very happy with it. The set up was extremely easy and it worked right away, even before calibrating. I have a model B rPi and decided to try and build a debian linux powered tablet. I purchased a lithium ion battery to power everything and included a 4-port usb hub and an HDMI splitter so I can mirror my screen on a tv or projector for presentations. The 10" screen works perfectly for my set up right now, although I'm still working on designs for a case to house all the components. I've decided to print a case using a 3D printer rather than trying to cut one out of any other material. I'd like to keep this as slim and lightweight as possible. If anyone knows anything about 3D printing, I'd love some tips.
Both include:
Touch Screen
Assembled HDMI-LVDS converter (makes the screen a touch screen)
All necessary wires for connecting to the rPi
*MUST BUY RPI SEPARATE*
Once purchase, simply follow these instructions all the way through calibration and you're set to use your finger as a mouse.
If you want a touch screen keyboard:
Type into terminal:
<sudo apt-get install matchbox_keyboard>
I have only 2 complaints:
1) I've had trouble using a usb connected mouse with 'ghost movements' causing the cursor to jump all over the screen. Further research revealed a way to calibrate the sensitivity of the touch screen, but I also found out that whether or not the screen is properly embedded in some sort of a casing actually does make a difference. Instructions of how to calibrate and more information on the cause of the problem can be found here http://www.chalk-elec.com/?p=1702.
2) I've also had trouble with using my finger to click and double click. It seems that every time I touch the screen, it instinctively thinks I'm trying to drag and move icons around on my desktop. I'm wondering if that's also an issue with having a free standing screen.
If you need any help send an email, im ngdouventzidis@gmail. I have never used this site before, just came across this thread and registered with the site so I could help. Good luck
thansk for sharing, I've been curious about those Chalk Elec products.

If you are referring to touch screen remote for video/audio, I have the RPi with XBMC (Raspbmc) Frodo mainly for video library located on NAS and working quite smoothly and use both Samsung 500T and Lumia 620 with their respective XBMC RC apps for touch screen remote control. Similar XBMC RC apps are available for IOS and Android.
The smaller touch screens are much cheaper: 3.2" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-2-TFT-LCD-Module-Touch-Screen-Monitor-Display-for-Raspberry-Pi-B-B-dll-/311163532881?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item4872cab651
