benchmark display chip from commandline

I am testing some power usage to see what parts is using how much and i can put load on the USB, network and CPU from commandline as i have not any monitor connected to it, so can i benchmark the gfx chip in the raspberry pi chip from commandline ?

You could try omxplayer with some 1080p video

I've tried launching it from a remote ssh session and it starts playing on the local display (no X). Others have run it as a daemon. I would assume it would still be doing hardware decoding without a monitor attached. It should be easy enough to tell if you're measuring current, as it will pull significantly more on the 1.8V rail (I measured 100-130mA compared to 55mA or so idle).
