I just found this: http://au.element14.com/raspberry-pi/raspbrry-modb-512m/sbc-raspberry-pi-model-b-512mb/dp/2191863
Is this a raspberry pi with 512Mb RAM or is this a joke.

Hello Jamodio. . .
I'm happy to report I've just purchased the new Raspi, model B with 512Mb. Nice that it was $35 (+6 to ship) from the Newark site. Receipt said "1 available to ship today". Great way to start a Monday. . .now if only the line on my order history for the Gertboard would say SHIPPED, we'd have a perfect day!
Best
Peg
Thanks Peg,
I also placed an order after receiving the email I posted before, funny thing is that my order confirmation recevied at 9:25am says expected ship date 10/22/12, but at 9:46am I received another email stating that they had boards in stock.
I didn't receive an update for my order yet.

I ordered with Newark a week ago, and I just got this e-mail:
"Dear XXX,
We're excited to inform you that the Raspberry Pi 256MB that you recently purchased has been automatically upgraded to the brand new 512MB at no additional cost. The new Raspberry Pi has double the RAM memory, which more than doubles the user accessible memory. To find out more about the technical benefits of the new Pi 512MB, see the highlights below or Click Here. We hope you enjoy the speed of your new Raspberry Pi-now on its way to you.
Visit our accessories page today and create your own starter kit. Learn more and see the Raspberry Pi in action at element14 community. "
That said, my order status page still says backordered with a ship date of Nov. 1, and this e-mail says it's "on its way," so I'm not quite sure what's going on.
I suspect that, currently, over-exuberance is trumping stock levels to fulfill the level of enthusiasm.
Well it seems that newark have/had some boards in stock, got confirmation that it was shipped via UPS, expected delivery on 10/17.
Hi,
I will pass your message to Newark Customer Service so they confirm with you delivery date.
Thanks,

Hmm - will have to wait and see what turns up in your shipping package to be sure. I ordered my Pi from element14 New Zealand - looks like it was fulfilled from Element14 Australia.
When i noticed they had a couple of thousand turn up in stock, i called (yesterday) to ask if they were the new improved spec models - and was assured yes i would revieve one of the newer models.
It turns up by courier today, and disappointed to see that despite being a newer board manufactured in the UK, it seems to have a 256meg chip fitted.
I guess i ordered the 256meg version, so i shouldnt be so disappointed - but actually am rather gutted as i want it to run XBMC - which would certainly benefit from the extra memory...
guess i should just have cancelled and re-ordered. Grrrr.
Hi Pete
Looking at your post I would also think you should have received a 512MB unit
You may have doen this but can you run the following command and check the code number that the board returnsd
cat/proc/cpuinfo
If you’re running revision 1.0 you will see code numbers 2 or 3
If you're running revision 2.0, 256MB you will see code numbers 4 or 6.
If you are running the Raspberry new Pi Model B (512MB) Revision 2.0 you will see code numbers 13 or 14
Thanks
Mike
