Raspberry Pi foundation have announced that the Pi will now be fabricated in Wales at the Sony factory. Looks like some may still be China based, but the majority will be in Wales.

That's excellent news! As others have pointed out, the main electronic components are probably still being manufactured in China, so in reality "Assembled in UK" would be more accurate than "Made in UK", but this is still an important step in the right direction. I hope that this trend continues.
Pity that the assembly plant is Sony's though, as this company has a dreadful record in how they treat customers (the root-kit saga and removing the "other O/S" facility from PS3 are just two examples out of many), as a result of which I and many others have been boycotting Sony's products for years. The UK-made Pi is not a Sony branded product, just made under contract, so it escapes the boycott by the skin of its teeth. Still a bit sucky that in buying a Pi I'll be contributing to Sony profits though, but it's at the lesser end of their evil.
So, good news. And a clear indication that RPF can do good things when they want, and when personalities stay out of the way.
