There's one million plus one different projects one could build for Raspberry Pi, but that's not gonna happen soon if you ask me.
Why?
Well, I still waiting my 256Mb Raspberry Pi (since July, 5th)...
I know it's not Element14 fault or manufacturers - it's customs fault. They let get into Russia just 8 (!!!) boards a day.
So while someone would get a 512Mb version I probably will be waiting for 256Mb version, cause till the November (12th to 18th) my Pi wouldn't even be dispathed...
I easily could imagine a situation li this:
#1 - Oh, Oleg, we allready let 8 boards to be delivered to their owners, that's too much!
#2 - You know, Boris, you're right! I'm so-o-o tired after all of this heavy work! I mean, that boards' weight is too much for my acking from sitting butt...
#1 - Aha... Besides, they are 5 by 8 cm and that makes them even worse! So-o-o BIG, so HEAVY!!!
#2 - Hmmm.... maybe we should stop by now and go on later? Maybe tomorrow... Or the day after tomorrow...
#1 - What a splendid idea! In fact, we could have some free milk as a compensation for all of this hard work too...
#2 - Yeah, and have just two hours of a work everyday... We definetely should inform our boss about this situation...
Boss - Five by eight cm?!! How could you even think about doing that manually?!! You should've come to me and get some usage-of-a-truck permission! And now you're in no shape to work properly for the next two mounths! Geez... Well, I think no one would ever complain about your absence for two mounths... Okay, you may go and rest, I'll cover you as you did when firemen and ФСБ came.
It's really a shame on our customs. And the next one in this estafet would be Russian mail system ))))
Good luck to me and all that fellas who get their boards or just waiting for/thiniking of purchasing it!
