Just received my Raspberry Pi (very excited), and have not been able to get it to work. Here's what I've tried so far:
- Connected Pi to a Samsund LCD TV using HDMI, standard optical mouse & USB keyboard, Ethernet connection to my home network, 4gb SD card pre-loaded with Debian Linux 6 (from Element14), and applied power using my iPad USB charger (rated 5v @ 2a).
- All I got was a solid PWR led on the Pi board. Nothing from ACT, FDX, LNK or 100 LEDs. No video whatsoever, and apparently no boot activity. TV continued to display the "no signal" status.
- Tried both the composite and HDMI on a 2nd TV. Still nothing. TV continued to display the "no signal" status.
- Tried applying power to the Pi board with nothing connected except the power supply. Still nothing.
- Opened SD card image on my Pc (rinning ehem... Windows 7) and was able to open & view the configuration files. So I guess the image is intact.
- Finally spoke to customer support @ Element14. (By the way Great People!), getting a replacement for both the board and SD card, but would like to know if I'm doing anything wrong, before the replacement shows up.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chuck
