An interesting project showing up at Kickstarter to create a small retro Arcade cabinet with an embedded Rpi.

Yes, a very interesting project. Did you see the paragraph "Currently the audio support on Raspberry Pi is a little shaky, the situation is improving all the time though and is a software problem. We are actively seeking workarounds to this and if the problem is not solved by the time we ship then the Picade will include a USB sound card." ?

With this project being on the front page, this project will definantly be funded. The project already has 16,000+ pounds in funding already. It could be funded by the end of today.

You are right, but I think it will take a little bit more time to get 100% funding. I am surprised that they didn't shoot for a higher number like 65,536 instead of 32,768, one more bit makes a big difference :-)
