RPi Hub

First off,  I think it is great that they clean-up the wiki...it is now long overdue.

 

Secondly, How can I contribute to the wiki?  I have some great tutorials that I think would be useful to the average Raspberry Pi user and should be on the wiki.

 

Things such as my

How to get sound over HDMI working when using a TV?

post.  That now has over 15,000 views and would be a great step by step guide to assist in getting the Raspberry Pi up and running.

 

I am sure that others would also like to contribute their material as well.

 

Could someone please inform how we can help clean-up the wiki and contribute information to it?

  • Do you mean the eLinux.org wiki where the RPi articles are (http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Hub)?  If so, I believe all you have to do is register and then log in to edit.  I've edited the Verified Peripherals article many times (as my user pdp7).

    That's the one.  They are saying that it is unmaintained and needs drastic reconstruction.

     

    So it is as easy as just logging in...I will give it a go later.

    I've found it very easy to make small changes to pages.  I haven't created a new page from scratch, but I doubt it's that hard.  My approach is to copy a section with similar formatting to what I need, and then modify the copy.

     

    Personally, I find the RasPi Wiki organization pretty decent.  If people are complaining about its being unmaintained, they should quite simply go it and fix it.  It's a community effort.  If I find I've answered the same question a couple of times here or chez RasPi, it's clearly time to get the answer into the Wiki or improve the answer that's already there.  That way when the question next arises we can simply say (for example) "start with the RasPi Troubleshooting Wiki".
