First up, is it acceptable to post links to items on suppliers that aren't Farnell?
Because that would massively help to demonstrate what I'm trying to source!
While I wait for that answer, I'm on the lookout for a yellow OLED display AT LEAST 3 inches wide and 1 inch high, (8x2.5cm) and dot-addressable so I can make large clear letters.
Think "old people with failing sight" sort of thing.
Ideally, a ratio of 4:1 width:height would be good so it could display the time when not displaying other things.
Found one at Farnell: http://uk.farnell.com/ritdisplay/pmo-19301/display-oled-128x64-ylw/dp/1626311 but like a lot of the RITDISPLAY items I've found, I can't find a pic of one actually in use anywhere.
I've found a load of others, each with different connectors, pros, cons and pricing. Would it be OK to post, say, 5 links and images and say why none of them suit? Whether it's because it's 1000 min order and I can't find suppliers of singles or because, like the Densitron models, the connectors or too small for practical prototyping. I'd love to see some of these actually in real life, lit up. Anyone know of any suppliers around the Midlands, Wales, Reading or London where I can go and see samples?
Honestly, this is the trickiest of things to hunt down!
