My Pi started befor but will not boot now

I just got about 2 weeks ago ive used it about 3 times i have xbmc on the 8gb SD card..but now i can only get a display thru the compisite out not the HDMI and it just says boot error ..what do i do?

the error its showing is"error in mount storage: mount common could not mount system halted

I think the most likely cause is a corrupted SD card.

One way to corrupt an SD card is to power off RasPi before it's done writing to the SD card. Before you turn off RasPi, be sure you shut it down with the appropriate command for your OS. For GNU/Linux distros the shell command is "shutdown -h now" or a GUI menu option. I assume XBMC has a shutdown command somewhere.

It's also possible that part of the SD card went bad.

I think the only thing you can do is rewrite the image to the SD card, though others may have other suggestions.
