Finally Newark/element14 have them in stock and I just got a first pair of the Model A board.
Glad to see that both boards say "Made in the UK" and the voltage regulators are from ON Semi and not the cheap Chinese knock-offs. These are as we know the same Rev 2.0 PCBs used for Model B but without the SMSC Ethernet Controller/USB Hub and associated connectors, and for USB we have now a single connector going directly to the Broadcom SoC which for this version have the 256MB PoP memory.
I'll try to put one on the bench today to measure how much current it draws and compare with model B.
I also got the Wi-Pi WiFi dongle from element14, presentation looks very nice, and on the box it says to support 11b/g/n, there are no electrical specs on the one page manual included in the box, wondering if we'll be under the magic 500mA to be able to power the Rpi with the dongle from a Netbook which is one of the configurations I'm testing for some tours to schools we are planning with the Geekbus from Geekdom, where I'm planning to use the Netbook via vnc as the "console" for the Rpi.
Will post the results later.
Cheers
Jorge
