My eyes don't work in HD !

I find the Pi's HD-text size too small at 1080 resolution on  a monitor and Atrix.   If I set the resolution to 720 in config.txt, it;s better, but that

lowers the graphical resolution too much.

 

Is there any possibility of  changing screen resolution on the fly ? The ideal would be to boot into 720, then change resolution to 1080 inside startx

(and revert on exit...)

 

It is possible to select text-size in the lxde-terminal, but that's no help at login.

  • I don't have an answer for you, but a suspicion that the font is optimized for 1080, and gives trouble for 720. Which really isn't all that different is resolution. But can cause all kinds of difficulties in aliasing and other phenomena. Can you try changing to a few different typefaces, preferably sans, and see if that helps?
