3D Printed case

I've designed and 3D printed my first case for the Rasp Pi and camera board.

This is a bit basic and not really much use yet. For a second attempt I was thinking of including a micro servo to pan the camera. I'm not sure how to control the servo from the Pi as there is no PWM. Has anyone done this, or would I be better off with a stepper motor and driver chip?

    Hi Nate thanks for the link.

     

    I understand the basic principle of how to control the servo by creating a pulse on the output pin, but I was kind of hoping there was a recomended pre-written library that could be used. In python maybe.

     

    The article for which you provided the link for does not really explain how they created the pulse, unless I missed that bit. My undersatnding is that the timing is quite critical. How can I ensure things don't get messed up if the pi is performing some heavy processing?
