Raspberry Pi won't boot .... help !!!! please

Hello, I am not sure how to proceed and your advice would be most gratefully received. I have a Raspberry Pi Model B which was running Raspbmc for 6 months quite happily but all of a sudden the Pi won't boot. All I get is the Red Power LED on the Pi and no other lights. I have removed all periferals and followed many suggestions, including re-imaging SD ~Card etc but I still have Pi that won't boot. My Pi is less than 12 months old, is it covered by wannanty still and if so can I get it fixed please. Yours sincerely Stephen Dobson

Hi Dave, many thanks for your reply. I love my pi as a media server and would love to either get it working again or for it to be replaced. Please advise of what my next steps should be.

Hi, This sounds terrible but I can't remember exactly where I bought it as at the time I was quite new to the subject and was looking around for a while. Nothing showing on my visa except an Amazon payment for £38 ish in September 2012....but no further details. That's as far as I can go back.

Is there a way I can find out where it came from? Postcode or something

I had the same problem and what I found in that the SD card was not making solid contact. Try gently presing the card on to the contacts from the top (not the edge) while you power up the Pi. This worked for me. My permenat fix was to replace the card holder with a micro disk holder.

Steve, unfortunately you would have needed to purchase the Pi from us (Newark.com, Farnell.com, element14, MCM.com or CPC.com) directly in order for me to help you with a return, I would suggest going to your "previous orders" menu on amazon to see if the vendor you purchased from has a return policy.
