Programming the Raspberry in C

Good Day,

I am Hussien and I am new to this site. I have question on programming the raspberry pin c language. I have googled and found that, there is a tool called "Geany". Other than that is there any other tool which i can use to the programming in C. I really hope that someone could help me. FYI, i am using Raspberry Pi to build a robot for my final year project. I thank you in advance for your kindness. Thank you.

I program in C using a text editor, GCC, and make. These are already present in standard RasPi GNU/Linux distros like Debian and Raspbian. Some people prefer to use an integrated development environment (IDE), but I find the traditional approach works well for me. A lot of IDEs just run GCC, so by running GCC by itself it gets rid of a layer of complexity and uncertainty.

GCC and make manuals are available for free at gnu.org.
