Gertboard DHT22

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

I have a question if it is possible to connect the temperature sensor DHT22 at Gertboard.

The i/O ports from specifications are working only in one direction IN or OUT and the DHT22 sensor needs a start signal and after that outputs 40 bits.

Did anybody read the DHT22 sensor using Gertboard.

I am interesting about the Gertboard wiring and the pins where is connecting DHT22 sensor.

Can't you use GP17 at J2 of the Gertboard?

I think it is connected directly to the GPIO17 of the RPi, I think that one-direction pin of the Gertboard are from 4 to 12.

Let me know if Iam rigth.

    Regards,

    Miguel

Here is a link that shows how to connect the Raspberry pi to the DHT22 http://rpi-experiences.blogspot.com/2013/07/rpi-monitor-use-dht11-or-dht22-humidity.html

    No. You cannot using buffers.

The gertboard buffers are unidirectional (input or output).

To work connect the data pin from DHT22 direct to PIN4. You do not need resistance between data and ground.

And ... it is working! I succeeded to read the temperature.

    Check:

    https://projects.drogon.net/raspberry-pi/gertboard-and-wiringpi/connecting-to-the-gertboard/

search: The DS18S20 is a 1-wire bus device (not supported by wiringPi, however the kernel driver does support it).

If you want to use DHT22 with raspberry pi and gertboard this is the solution:
