PiFaceCAD  as infrared controller for Sonos System

Hi

I have knocked up a python app using the new PiFaceCAD libraries in conjunction with the github SoCO Sonos library to make an infrared controller for my Sonos system.

Have you done something similar?

my motivation was when I used the Sonos Amp with my TV, there was no natural way to change the volume... having the TV remote AND the tablet with Sonos app just for volume was a pain...

it discovers all the sonos devices on your network and you can scroll through them and change the volume.

Also implemented play/pause/stop and next/previous track

I attach a screenshot of the device in a case for info...

    Hi,

I have some interest in this now as I got a Sonos system at Christmas. Any chance of sharing the code??

    regards

    Gareth

The new Sonos Play bar speaker has been designed to learn the IR remote codes from your TV remote control, which solves the original problem of having to handle the tablet and TV remote - with just a single optical spdif connection to the TV,sound latency is also avoided, which can happen if using other Sonos items such as the Connect amp. Hope this helps.
