Example use of EQ on Playback

Please find attached a script I cobbled together from the Use scripts provided with the Wolfson card.  It uses EQ1 and EQ2 for Right and Left Equalization for Playback to Headphones.

The settings are:

Gain 12 dB    Frequency 40 Hz Q: Shelving Type

Gain   3 dB    Frequency 2000 Hz Q: 2

Gain   3 dB    Frequency 4000 Hz Q: 2

Gain   5 dB    Frequency 8000 Hz Q: 2

Gain   6 dB    Frequency 16000 Hz Q: 2

I created the parameters with the Wisce software by adjusting the settings to those above and converted the Hexadecimal values into 2 byte decimal numbers.

It is presented as only an example, although it does work.

Your mileage may vary.

Any chance that you could do this for the cirrus logic card?

Am after trying to leave out the high and low pass filters for my audio stream that is using stereo mics on the line-in, I'm finding it impossible to find a way so that the low part of the spectrum is realised, everything is being filtered in the sh I think. By default I think they have filters on to stop any low freq buzz from any electrical's...

    Regards

    Alan

    Hi  Alan,

Thanks for answering, I didn't see your answer till now.

Finally I developed an app that take the audio from the different inputs of the Wolfson Audio Card, send each channel towards two Filters and after that I equalize them.

If you need anything just tell me.

    Hello Alejandro.

I would like to have the ability to send microphone data from the line-in to darkice without any filters being applied.

I have a disk image from someone else who (part of a group) has set this up so that mains hum is filtered out (apparently) I have tried using the switch in Darkice.cfg "-1" on both High and Low pass sections, though the bass response seems very thin, still.

I have tried commenting out sections in the line-in script so that the filters are not applied (though I only guess what I am doing there!).

Would be great to have raw data from the microphones being passed to the streaming server from Darkice.

    Any pointers?

    Regards

Update on mics with no bass..

After experimenting with other microphones and power set-up, I tried swapping the existing microphones I was using with some others, it was when I did this that I realised the existing microphones must have a high pass filter already in circuit, because when I plugged in the new microphones maga bass was heard! plus a mains hum! swapping to battery stopped this, so I do not have to figure out a way to bring back the bass at all, just a new way of stopping mains hum on the mics now, hope to have this sorted when my other cirrus logic audio card arrives next week with luck..

Blooming mics.... would you have guessed it?

    Happy days
