x86 apps on R Pi

Hello all!

There is a good new for owners of the Raspberry Pi 2 - now you can run x86 apps on R Pi 2 with the virtualization engine Exagear Desktop. This engine was released last fall and is being used with different ARM boards Eltechs ExaGear Desktop

But it is limited for ARMv7 instruction set so it is not available for the first generation of Raspberry Pi.   • I notice that both wine and virtualbox are listed in the Raspbian repository. Although it looks as though they are installable, I have not bothered myself. I use Wine and Virtualbox on my powerful Atom-based desktop where they do useful work. Even with the four cores and A7 on the Pi2, I think such things are more of a novelty than a utility for the Raspberry Pi.

     

    Perhaps an emulator might be useful for running development board IDEs that are only available for Windows.
