New Raspberry Pi B+ problem

I just got the Raspberry Pi B+, connected power, connected to TV, connected to mouse and keyboard, and micro SD. Only see red light (green light comes on for a fraction of a second). Display NOOBs on TV, but without a working mouse, cannot load software.

Is there no power to the USB2????

Help.

Which version of NOOB's?

The later versions are designed to turn the USB on.

If you have an older Pi you can do the upgrade thing on the card.
I'm sure you googled for your own answers ....

I should have added that I have been unable to load software from micro sd. We took everything out of the box and set it up,and have not been able to do anything.

I got the micro sd card predownloaded from mcm electronics with their 'complete kit, so I expect that it is the latest version of noobs

As silly as this sounds ....
You do have the microSD card fully inserted.

It sticks out 2-2.5mm when properly in, but 5 mm when partially.

I got caught out one day after knocking it, and wondered what was going on.
I can't recall the lights.

You are correct that it should have the latest image.
When you get it running, you should do the update thing as detailed in the instructions.

If you put the card into another machine you will see various files on it.

At this time, there are no silly questions. We push it in until it catches and clicks. We see the noobs screen on the TV We just can't choose any of the software because the mouse and keyboard have no power. Also we connected the mouse and keyboard to a computer. They both work

That sounds like the wrong distribution of NOOBs.

The easy solution is to download the latest version and stick it on the card.
You could try chasing the supplier to get them to replace it.

The B+ and Pi2 all have the USB off by default and part of the process on the later distribution is to turn it ON.
