Hotmail on RPi 2

Hi Guys, one of the things I would like to do with my RPi 2 is to be able to access my email (Hotmail) from it. Is this possible? Every email client I've looked at requires, as just about the first thing I do, is to set up a new account! I've installed Claws which appears to have good reviews, but again it requires set up of a new account, so I don't think it can do what I want. They all also ask questions about "POP3" and "SMTP" as if you know what they are talking about, I am afraid I don't, other than POP stands for Post Office Protocol. Some simple guidance would be appreciated. image

They just mean a new account to your client software, not a new hotmail account.  I don't use hotmail, or CLAWS, but it should be able to guess most of that for you.

If I remember correctly, POP3 pops the email to you and you log in to send with SMTP.  Just try pop3.hotmail.com and smtp.hotmail.com as a server.  You can also try a google search like using hotmail with a mail client.

Made a lot of progress on this one. I now have Claws Mail working on my RPi 2 B sending to my own mail box which I was able to read on my laptop in Outlook  but, I had to turn off SSl to make it work and I'm not so sure that is a good idea, how do I find out what SSL Certificate to use and it's details? Also whilst the email was received on my laptop in Outlook and it cam from my own address it doesn't appear in  my Inbox on Claws Mail !
