How to control 2 audio Inputs

Hi I am a newbie at this so just know I am learning from scratch. I own a Raspberry Pi 2. I know the Pi 2 has only 1 output but no inputs. I want to use the wofson on the pi2 like a audio switch. I want to have 2 separate inputs coming in at once, One would play at a time of course, then switch 1 on at a time going out on the output plug to the amp. Can I do this remotely and be able to control the volume too?

Do you intend to do something with the signals inside the pi? If not, you could use a relay controlled by the pi to swap the 2 analogue signals over.
No volume control though.

A USB soundcard would probably be the simplest route as it will give you a second audio input (when added to the audio input of the Wolfson card) to allow you to switch between the two.

you probably need a simple circuit with an analog multiplexer controlled by a Raspberry GPIO

Regarding the remote control there is plenty of resource on the net. I like this tutorial from adafruit
