Could anyone direct me to a battery pack design that can use 4 D-Batteries for the Raspberry Pi 2?

don't know your intent, but I think you can easily hack a standard battery pack and connect a 5 volt zener diode between the battery pack's positive and negative terminals
Then you can connect either a USB slave connector (if you want to power the Raspberry Pf rom the USB port) or a standard header connector

I find it quite strange how little information I could find on powering Raspberry Pi 2s via batteries.
There was a lot of info on the old Model Bs, but with the increase to 2.4a there has been a lot of confusion.
