micr sd card will not latch

I purchased a Raspberry Pi 2 - Model B from Adafruit in August. About 2 weeks ago it started ejecting the micro sd card and it would not latch into place. I did not see anything wrong so I tried a different card, then blew it out with canned air which did not help. Then I pressed down on it with a screwdriver where I could see some sort of latching mechanism. After that it started latching ok for a couple of weeks but now the problem has returned , and I can not get it to latch. So the pi is not usable because I can not install the micro sd card. When I posted this on the Adafruit forum I learned that they warrant these for 30 days. Since it has been longer than that, I was advised to contact element 14. Thanks for any help.

    Hello msmith

If the product was not purchased from one of our commercial stores (Newark element14, CPC, Farnell element14, etc.) we are unable to provide an RMA. Have you tried contacting Adafruit directly (CLICK HERE FOR CONTACT INFOARMATION) and not in the forums by chance to see if they are able to assist?

    Thank you,

    Jamie

Thanks for the replies. When I try to contact them directly, I have to select a category and none of them really fit.It looks to me like they want to handle this type of problem on their tech support forum which I have already done. I think I will just let it go and remember it in the future. Here is a link to my original post in case anyone is interested.http://https://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=82728

If I were you I would re-contact the Adafruit forum and highlight the fact that they are the customer as far as the warranty document is concerned, you personally did not purchase from Element14, they did and therefore (under the terms of the warranty they have provided you a link to) the only recourse available to you (a loyal Adafruit customer) is to return the defective item to them for them to RMA back to Element14.
