raspberry pi 2 for solar pannels?

hi i have a question about useing a raspberry pi 2 for looking on and keeping track of some solar pannel and if it can or has been done yet ?

    The question of whether or not to use the Pi, because the Pi is such a capable machine is a good question. To get the Pi working is not hard, but it has a bunch of overhead that is not necessarily needed for something super simple. Recently I have been playing around with the Particle Photon a lot, because it provides all the nice things of an Arduino like ADC, simplicity, but it has built in WiFi, so the web stack is built and ready to go. At $19/ea its a good deal too.
